El objetivo general de este ensayo consiste en indagar acerca del estado del arte en la enseñanza de las ciencias económicas, a través de una revisión literaria de contribuciones recientes al tema. En particular, los objetivos específicos del presente estudio son describir el panorama general en la implementación de modelos educativos recientes; estudiar el papel que juega la investigación en las instituciones universitarias; e identificar los retos que se presentan en la enseñanza de las ciencias económicas.

The general objective of this essay is to inquire about the state of the art in the teaching of economics, through a literary review of recent contributions to the subject. In particular, the specific objectives of this study are to describe the general panorama in the implementation of recent educational models; study the role that research plays in university institutions; and identify the challenges that arise in the teaching of economics.
